Starting out in the oil and gas field, in 2005 Dave saw industrial rail sector services begin to evolve and recognized a demand for supplying manpower for loading services. As Petro-Traxx Inc. began to grow, so did the need to provide switching services and mechanical services for railcar movers. In 2015, Dave co-founded Ultra-Traxx Inc., to provide ultrasonic rail testing. In 2019 Petro-Traxx became the authorized Shuttlewagon dealer for Western Canada.
Art`s career in the rail industry has spanned more than 50 years. He has held various railway positions as Track Maintainer, Rail Traffic Controller, Operations Supervisor (Trainmaster), Regional Transportation Safety Coordinator, Manager Accident Prevention and Safety Director for CN Western Canada. Twenty of those years were with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) as Principle Safety Analyst and Senior Investigator (railway and pipeline). He teaches incident investigation. He provides independent railway incident investigation services to the industrial railway industry and legal community. He assists insurance companies as an expert witness for industrial railway issues. He is Past President of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE). Art is VP of Operations and Training for Rail-Werx.
Knut's 50-year career in the travel industry began with CN Rail (Signals Dept) followed by a 28-year career with Pacific Western Airlines/Canadian Airlines. He graduated from the University of Southern California Aviation Safety program, held various managerial positions including project manager for a fleet of Hercules aircraft and finally retiring as the Manager Ground Safety, globally. During his 16-year tenure with Alberta Transportation, as Rail Safety Officer, Knut worked with railway stakeholders to develop the current Industrial and Heritage Railway Regulations, the Railway Safety Management System, Railway Annual Audit System, and many railway guidelines (such as the Streetcar and Security Management Plan). Knut has joined Rail-Werx as VP, Business Development, and is eager to stay connected and assist the rail industry.
Lorretta has over 50 years of varied and extensive administrative
experience working primarily in law:
both in law enforcement (Fish and Wildlife and RCMP) and as a senior
litigation paralegal in law firms.
Working as an Executive Assistant and Paralegal with the Team Lead for
Rogers Place and Ice District builds (for 10 years), she managed many aspects
of this large project. Lorretta joined Rail-Werx in July 2019 and assists with
all aspects of business management.
John has over 45 years of railway experience with Class 1 (CN
Rail), Alberta Heritage and Industrial Railways. John provides training in all
areas of railway operations including qualification of conductors, locomotive
engineers, railway rules, Railcar Mover operators, track inspectors and
maintenance personnel. In addition, he has Railway Management experience in performing
railway accident incident investigations and risk management responsibilities.
Rick has over 45 years of railway experience working in various
railway operational positions such as conductor, locomotive engineer, car
transfer operator with a Railcar Mover, rules instructor and rules safety compliance
supervisor. He was also the lead
instructor for live equipment and hands-on mentoring for live equipment.
Craig has over 35 years of railway experience working as a
conductor and a locomotive engineer (handling various train types and sizes on
multiple terrains) and as a railcar mover operator. He mentored and trained new
railway persons on rail safety and train handling. In addition, he has experience in instructing
the Alberta Industrial Rail Operating Rules, railcar mover training, SMS auditing
and track inspection training.
